We’re excited to share that we’re the winners of the Residential Solar and Storage Project of the Year, at the Solar & Storage Live Awards 2021.

Recognising the most impactful and innovative solar and storage projects and contributors throughout the UK, there were 13 highly converted awards up for grabs, including Contractor of the Year, Commercial Solar and/or Storage Project of the Year and Solar and/or Storage Product Innovation.

Our award-winning Egg team

Collecting the award at the ceremony on behalf of the team, and also involved in the design and delivery of the winning project, were Pam Hanlon (Sales), Matthew Biggs (Project Manager), Tash Horn (Head of Product), and Verity Dixon (Internal Operations Manager).

Egg’s CEO Thomas Newby, also at the award ceremony to support our team and our achievements, said, “We are delighted to receive this award, and wish to recognise not only our customer, but the multidisciplinary Egg team who transformed the property through this remarkable evolution. We belong to a fast-moving industry driven by constant innovation, and are especially proud of how this project has seamlessly integrated several best-in-class energy systems over multiple phases of development, creating a future-proofed home.”

The award-winning project from Egg

After installing a Zappi EV charger for Jeff at his home in January 202, Jeff began his sustainable home journey with Egg.

By 2021, Jeff had an air source heat pump, a solar PV system, and a Tesla Powerwall battery - all working together to transform how his home generates, stores and uses energy. The project has had such an impact that Jeff has been able to completely disconnect his gas supply, significantly reducing his CO2 emissions.

Now, Jeff can:

  • Generate his own 100% renewable electricity to power his home

  • Store any unused solar energy generated during the day to use at night

  • Reduce his reliance on the grid and save on electricity bills

  • Charge his electric vehicle for free, using his own solar generated electricity
